On Saturday, November 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Helena Civic Center critically-acclaimed singer Steve Lippia comes shares the stage with the Helena Symphony Orchestra in a Swingin’ Sinatra concert. The concert features favorites from the “American Songbook,” including “Beyond the Sea,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” “That’s Life,” “The Lady is a Tramp,” “Come Fly With Me,” “Mack the Knife,” “The Best is Yet to Come,” and iconic Sinatra favorites “My Way” and many more.

Steve Lippia appeared with the HSO at the 2015 Symphony Under the Stars as part of a Centennial Sinatra concert for over 15,000 people. “We are thrilled to be able to bring Steve Lippia back,” explains Music Director Allan R. Scott. “Steve performs with all of the same charts that Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Dean Martin, and others did – especially a big band within a symphony orchestra.” Steve Lippia has become one of the country’s most prominent, in-demand vocalists and has quickly established his place among the finest interpreters of this genre of music. Mr. Lippia has headlined in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and with symphonies and big bands around the world, including the Boston Pops Orchestra. He also has headlined to standing room only crowds at the legendary Birdland Jazz Club in New York City, where he was backed by the Nelson Riddle and Woody Herman Orchestras.

“Truthfully, no one can replace the legendary Frank Sinatra,” suggests Maestro Scott, an avid Sinatra fan. “Sinatra’s presence, compelling performances, ability to turn a phrase in a song, and sense of reinvention over five decades is uncanny. Steve Lippia, who is not an impersonator, but an incredible performer, helps us relive the great music-making of Sinatra and others.” This concert is a rare opportunity to experience a night of what makes American music (jazz, big band, and the American Songbook) so unique, entertaining, and – American.

This is a Non-Series Concert (not part of the Masterworks Concert Series) and tickets are sold separately for this performance.
