On Saturday, June 29, at 6:00 p.m. the Helena Symphony presents the 2nd annual Benefit Concert.  This red-carpet, formal event is hosted at the private estate of acclaimed German actor Nick Wilder & Italian actress Christine Mayn.  Prior to the concert, audience members are shuttled to the estate, called Montana Ting, where they will walk the red carpet, complete with photographs, and be offered a welcome drink.  They will then be greeted with exquisite catered food, a cash bar, and an incredible sunset that overlooks Helena from above Lakeside.  Then the audience enjoys a private concert capturing the Night in Italy by three acclaimed opera singers, the Helena Symphony Orchestra and Chorale, and the passionate, memorable, dramatic, wildly-fun music from ITALY!

Acclaimed artists, including Soprano Diana McVey, Tenor Jeff Kitto, and Baritone Evan Thomas Jones, perform some of the most memorable scenes from operas, such as romantic highlights from Puccini’s La Boheme and “Nessun dorma” from Turandot; comic moments from Rossini’s Barber of Seville and friendship from Verdi’s Don Carlo and La Traviata; reflective music from Verdi’s Otello and Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana.  The concert also features music from great Italian film scores, including Rota’s The Godfather, and Morricone’s The Mission and Cinema Paradiso.  Finally, fun Italian songs such as “O sole mio” and “Faniculí, faniculá” are included in this all Italian concert – from music to drink to food.

Tickets for this special limited-seating event are $150 each and are available at the Symphony Box office (2 N. Last Chance Gulch, Suite 1) or by calling 406.442.1860 or helenasymphony.org.  The entire price of the ticket goes to benefit the Helena Symphony.
