The Helena Symphony was on the move Friday into new digs in the Livestock Building on the downtown Walking Mall.
Its doors open Tuesday in their new space, 2 N. Last Chance Gulch, the building with the Women’s Mural.
It has a convenient and inviting entrance right on the Walking Mall and plenty of nearby parking.
“It’s putting the Helena Symphony in a more prominent space in the city,” said music director Allan R. Scott. “We’re visible to passersby and we’re at the corner of Broadway and Last Chance Gulch. Who could ask for a better spot?”
Paintbrushes and cleaning bottles in hand, staff were spiffing up their new headquarters Friday afternoon, as computer equipment was being trundled in the door and hooked up.
Boxes, computer screens, hard drives and more were in transit — trying to beat the Governor’s Cup crowds on Saturday.
Already safely tucked into the walk-in vault is the symphony’s music library.
The symphony is vacating its offices at 48 Hibbard Way, where it has resided for the past eight years.
